There aren't enough words to do justice to the legacy of recognition that Margaretta left behind for the Kenya Art Scene, she practically put it on the map and managed to elighten, entertain and encourage a whole generation of kenyans to appreciate their artists and become collectors, not to mention the countless diasporic readers that her words reached.

Margaretta was also part of the jury since the inception of Kenya Theatre Awards and her term ended early this year. She was a dedicated jury member and critic of the performances she watched. I believe she was one of if not only jury member who watched all the theatre production presented every year.

No amount of pain or discomfort would keep her away from the weekly shows and she showed up consistently for her love of the arts and worked inspite of all her health challenges till the final moment, there was no alternative for her. She asked about the Diary layout and cover design two days before she passed and was lucid and invested as ever. She was a force to be reckoned with within our little group and faced all the challenges with grace and a smile.

As we celebrate her historic contributions to the Kenyan art & theatre community - we promise to do our best to honour her legacy.

We thank God for her and her life, her passion and love.
